Coach and Residence Director - Unity College

Job Description:
The Coach and Residence Director selects, trains, and supervises Residential Life staff and manages operational functions in assigned residence halls. Provides services directly to students such as personal and disciplinary counseling, and developmental, cultural, and educational programming. Participates in the overall planning and management of the residence hall system. Coaches two varsity sports, supporting athletics operations and student-athletes. Manages intramural sports programs. Manages daily summer operation of residence halls and classrooms. Specific duties include (but are not all inclusive):
Assist with hiring, training supervising, and counseling resident advisors.
Support one floor of residents directly by providing floor programming, counseling of residents, conduct regular floor meetings, maintain educational bulletin boards on the floor and other community development units.
Assist in developing a community atmosphere in the residence halls through programming and participates in fair judicial practices.
Educate and enforce all policies in the student handbook with an emphasis on housing policies.
Assist with serving as the college's on call 24-7 residence life staff for concerns and crises on alternate weekends. Work with the Director of Residence Life to contribute to a system of 24/7 after-hours coverage.
Assist and support the Director of Residence Life in residence operations (housing assignments, work request, damage assessment, vendor relations).
Coaches two varsity sports and fulfills all of the job duties of a coach, including:
Game preparation and management, including coordination with visiting teams.
Manages team strength and conditioning, practice, and competition
Assists the Director of Wellness & Athletics with scheduling and arrangements for travel, officiating, etc.
Assists with recruiting qualified student-athletes.
Assists Director of Wellness & Athletics and Marketing Department with publicity and reporting.
Directs and supervises paid and unpaid assistants.
Monitors student-athlete academics and promotes academic success.
Works with Director of Wellness & Athletics to improve student-athlete retention.
Maintains uniforms and equipment according to college policy.
Supervises team on home and away contest.
Assists in managing day-to-day needs of summer residents: room assignments, check in and out, work orders, programming, RAs, etc.
Serves as on-call residence life staff or after-hours concerns and crises. Works with the Director of Residence Life to contribute to a system for 24/7 coverage after hours in the summer.
Assists with camps and activities for summer programs.
Assists with athletic recruitment.
Assists with retention and re-recruitment efforts through outreach, connection, and support for returning students during the summer.
Provide informed, effective, and collaborative leadership within a model of functional leadership and shared governance.
Effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in the campus community and present information and respond to questions from managers, students, parents, and the general public.
Work with faculty, staff, and students from diverse political/socioeconomic backgrounds and a wide range of physical and academic abilities.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field such as education, the behavioral of social sciences, counseling, or student development and:
At least 1-3 years of job-related experience in student affairs or collegiate athletics
Good knowledge of group dynamics and learning processes
Excellent organizational skills
Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, administration, faculty, staff, students and off-campus community partners
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Basic crisis intervention skills or ability to learn (self-harm, sexual assault, substance abuse, etc.)
Additional Information:
This is a LIVE-IN position. Work schedules varies seasonally depending on the time of year. Must be available variably during the day, evenings and weekends. Works extended hours as needed. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and in meeting the college's needs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
