Part Time Counselor - Unity College

Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Dean of Students, the Part Time Counselor organizes and provides mental health and student development services for Unity College student. In addition to providing psychological counseling for clients, the Part Time Counselor works to evaluate student needs and refer them to appropriate providers, and offers group and educational programming. Specific duties include (but are not all inclusive):
Assess and plan for campus medical services.
Assess and implement comprehensive student wellness programs.
Provide individual and small group personal and psychological counseling services to the students of Unity College on a part-time basis, 24 hours per week.
Facilitates students access to mental health services by evaluating needs during a limited number of welcome sessions and refers students to expert providers.
Designs and manages 1-2 counseling groups in response to student needs.
Works directly with student clients, whether individually or in groups, 15-20 hours per week.
Works with all Student Success staff to provide a multi-layered system of student counseling and support by referring students as appropriate to other employees with student support responsibilities.
Provides crisis assistance to Unity College students through response and referral.
Provides on-call wellness center support to Residential Life staff a limited number of nights per week.
Engages in peer consultation and collaboration with the Director of Student Health Services and other Wellness Center staff as is appropriate and consistent with professional protocol. Functions as part of a supportive professional team to provide and receive feedback on treatment strategies employed with Unity College students.
Works with the DSHS to coordinate the activities of external providers and maintain consistent care for students. May include supervision of intern counselors, student success coaches, work study students, etc.
Assists students and resolve problems in complex cases to make sound decisions that balance student needs, community safety, and institutional risk.
Maintains appropriate Maine State licensure. Complete appropriate number of Continuing Education Units to satisfy state and institutional requirements.
Interface effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other external organizations in order to advocate for student clients.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Clinical or Counseling psychology, Counseling, Social Work, M.S.N. (Psychiatric Nursing) or related field with appropriate State of Maine licensure plus:
one to three years of job-related experience
Crisis intervention skills or ability to learn (self-harm, sexual assault, substance abuse, etc.)
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Preferred:
Experience working in a college counseling center and/or with college-age students.
Experience with professional training and workshop development.
Additional Information:
This position works 25 hours per week with occasional evening and weekends. Includes on-call availability to assist Residential Life staff in managing students. Must be flexible and cooperative in meeting the college's needs. Work is often performed in the office, exam room, or out and around the campus building and grounds.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
