Instructor of Mathematics - Unity College

Job Description:
This position will support instruction and disciplinary expertise in the math curriculum at Unity College. Teaching includes 24 course credits annually, consisting of a combination of College Algebra, Pre-calculus, Elementary Statistics, and other classes as assigned. Other duties include advising, professional development, and faculty service as needed. This position supports the delivery of the Unity College curriculum, plus supports and mentors students both in and outside the classroom. Specific duties include (but are not all inclusive):
Deliver College Algebra, Pre-calculus, Elementary Statistics, and additional mathematics courses as assigned.
Administer content and materials using student-focused experiential education practices.
Meet with students in an informal and formal advising capacity.
Contribute to faculty service needs as assigned.
Serve on campus committees as appropriate given position responsibilities.
Contribute to the college's commitment to sustainability.
Contributes to the College's commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive working and learning environment.
Contribute to the college's commitment to safety by using safe work habits, ergonomics and proper lifting, and following biohazard protocol as appropriate.
Assume responsibility to maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and skills with regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws.
Demonstrate a high degree of commitment to quality, interdisciplinary quantitative literacy instruction.
The ideal candidates will have competence in the profession or discipline and the ability to teach and advise effectively. Must will hold a master's degree and credentials appropriate to the discipline such as professional certifications or licenses.Successful candidate will have experience with statistical packages such as JMP and/or R, and knowledge of and experience in implementing best practices in teaching undergraduate mathematics. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, facility with technical terminology appropriate to the position.

Additional Information:
Position begins in August 2018 for the 2018-2019 Academic year; primarily works day shift with occasional evening hours as determined by course schedule. Responsibilities focus on math courses. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Must be able to provide clear proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
This position is regularly required to sit, use a computer, make phone calls, and lead outdoor activities. The employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Primarily works in an instructional lab or classroom environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
