Term Instructor of Mathematics - Unity College

Job Description:
This position will support instruction in the math curriculum at Unity College during the Spring 2018 semester. Teaching includes between 12-15 credits of a combination of Intermediate Algebra, Algebra & Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, and other classes as assigned. This person will support the delivery of the Unity College curriculum, plus support and mentor students both in and outside the classroom. Specific duties include (but are not all inclusive):
Deliver Elementary Statistics and various Algebra courses as assigned.
Meet with students in an informal and formal advising capacity.
Contribute to faculty service needs as assigned.
Contribute to the college's commitment to sustainability.
Contribute to the college's commitment to safety by using safe work habits, using ergonomics and proper lifting, and following biohazard protocol as appropriate.
Assume responsibility to maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and skills with regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws.
Follow the college's standards of conduct.
Demonstrate a high degree of commitment to customer service and quality education
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and teaching experience preferred, but a bachelor's degree and relevant experience will be considered. Must have strong oral and written communication skills and facility with technical terminology appropriate to the position. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs. Ability to use the internet, email, and our Learning Management System. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Additional Information:
2018 Spring semester; primarily works day shift with occasional evening hours as determined by course schedule. Responsibilities will focus on math courses. Regularly required to sit, use a computer, make phone calls, and lead outdoor activities. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Primarily works in an instructional lab or classroom environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
