in Exercise Science or closely related field required.
Basic Life Support certification required.
Must successfully complete Cardiac Arrhythmia and ACLS Certification within first 6 months of employment.
Previous hospital or educational experience desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES Cardiac Testing.
Attends to patient during exercise training sessions, under supervision of nursing staff.
Accurately assesses cardiovascular response to exercise including:
blood pressure, heart rate, and change in cardiac rhythm.
Patient Care.
Provides continuous education and guidance to the patient and family in phase II and III of cardiac rehabilitation with regard to risk factor modification and the rehabilitative process.
Ensures that the patient has a good understanding of safe and appropriate activity levels.
Documentation.
Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient progress.
Writes exit reports and maintains goal-setting meetings during the 12 week phase 2 program.
EDUCATION:
BS (Required)LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
